On March 13, 2024, Xingfa Jinguan Company held a meeting for its Claus sulfur unit tail gas SO2 emission reduction and environmental protection technical transformation project. The meeting took place in the project office on the second floor of the office building and was attended by all 14 members of the project leadership team and project department.
At the meeting, Zhang Hongtu emphasized the significance of the Claus sulfur unit tail gas SO2 emission reduction project. He stated that this project is a comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, aligning with the new development stage and fully adhering to the new development philosophy. The project represents a key initiative in ecological civilization construction and environmental protection, supported by the company’s major shareholders.
The project's main goal is to divert the tail gas from the Claus sulfur unit's quench tower and waste gas from methyl mercaptan synthesis to a new tail gas to sulfuric acid plant. This process will convert waste gas into industrial-grade sulfuric acid and by-product steam, effectively turning waste into valuable resources. This transformation significantly reduces SO2 emissions, decreases energy consumption, and provides notable environmental and social benefits. Additionally, it offers certain economic advantages, making it a crucial part of the company's development strategy.
Xu Hougang, deputy head of the project leadership team, described this endeavor as a "specialized, refined, unique, and innovative" project. He explained:
During the meeting, project manager Pei Qianhong outlined the overall schedule and key work milestones. All project team members expressed their commitment to complete the project on time, with high quality, and in full compliance with the requirements.
